This morning after my bike ride I was taking off my shoes and began to chuckle as I remembered the first time trying them on in the Peleton store. The shoes have a couple of velcro snaps and one adjustable piece that you can tighten and loosen. This morning taking the shoes off and sliding off the adjustable piece was second nature. I had mastered a very small but important skill that enabled me to get my bike shoes off my feet. The very first time, everything I did was backwards till finally the sales associate came over and quickly undid them. Not playing close enough attention this was a minor struggle for the next few times I put them on and had to re-remember how to take them off. This morning was a reminder that it is practicing skills that make us masters.
